Looking for recommendations from restaurants to eat in Medellín? Today we are going to give you a few! We have been staying in the El Poblado area and generally, we have to recognize that we have found it much more expensive than the rest of the sites we visited in Colombia. Of course, the premises are beautiful and the atmosphere very lively. We would say that "is the place to be" in Medellín. Still do not panic: the prices of the restaurants we recommend are very accessible! That said, let's not make more detours ... here they go 7 places and restaurants to eat in Medellín

The first time we tried the poke, a Hawaiian dish, it was in California and yes: it was love at first sight (well, at first taste). This Medellin seemed very, very rich. It is not very cheap (it costs $ 26,000), but it is well worth spending those pesos. There are suggestions for bowls recipes, or you can make it your own (same price). We order one of brown rice, tuna, shrimp, Brazil nuts, carrots, avocado and sesame sauce and another of sushi rice, salmon, shrimp, mango, avocado, coconut, plantains and teriyaki sauce. To drink try the infusions of pineapple and peppermint or hibiscus and cherry ($ 4,500). Very, very, very rich!

It is one of the legendary places in the city, where you can taste typical dishes of Antioquia, prepared with love and quality. Come on, if you haven't tried the famous paisa tray yet, this is a good place to do it. They also have a small paisa tray option that, given how huge the normal dish is, is not a bad option ($ 15,000). Don't you know what the paisa tray has? It is a source (I refuse to call it haha dish) with rice, beans, pork rinds, meatloaf, fried egg, avocado, blood sausage and arepa. A boooomba!

We have already told you before: in Colombia you eat luxury, but after a week in the country, based on abundant slashes (almost always with meat), the stomach asks for a break. And if the stop catches you in Medellin, Betty's Bowl is a great place. Here the letter is simple, or you order a natural juice, or a toast or a bowl of fruit (or all of the above hehe). We recommend the bowl of banana, blackberry, acai and grape and a natural passion fruit juice (it is my downfall in Colombia). Bowls cost $ 12,000 (about € 4) and if you want to add granola, honey, nuts, coconut, etc ... each costs $ 1,500 more. Toasts cost $ 10,000-12,000 and juices about $ 5,000. Tip: it is a petfriendly place and tooooda the dishes are recyclable.

Oops arepas, what a divine invention! If you want to try some delicious, you have to come here. As you can imagine, they prepare them with charcoal, with the most varied ingredients. For about $ 13,000 you have arepa and drink. Bon Appetite!

Do you notice that in Medellín we had a little time in Colombia and we were looking for new flavors? Hehe, you've caught us: but you know that our heart (and stomach) is thrown to Asia. If you also want to try some oriental dish, this Vietnamese is a good alternative. Try the pho bo, a soup with super tasty broth made with veal and fresh herbs and noodles. The site looks very nice but the soup only costs $ 18,000 (about € 5). For dessert try the matcha cheescake ($ 9,000), more japo than Vietnamese but what else does it matter!

If what you want is a rich hamburger, here you can eat one of the best hamburgers in Medellín. There are many types, but we would keep the Original Grill that is accompanied by Jack Daniel's whiskey-based sauce. There is also a vegetarian option! Calculate about $ 20,000 per burger.

Tired of so much meat? Are you looking for veg-friendly options? We discovered this restaurant thanks to Mariana de any little thing is darling and now we recommend it here too. The half-day menu costs about $ 12,000 and includes soup, main course, juice and dessert. Very good option if you want to eat healthy and tasty.

Other interesting alternatives to eat in Medellín are these:

- River Market: a great place, which more than one person recommended. It is a kind of gastronomic market / food court where you can try dishes from different places and kitchens. Perfect for undecided hehe.

- Express submarine: We did not go, but we have seen online this place that prepares a lobster roll apparently quite rich. Although we had gone for another reason: the place looks like a submarine ... hence the name.

- And of course, if you want to eat really cheap in Medellin, it is best to opt for street stalls or the local restaurants You'll find (almost) in every corner. The most profitable are the currents, menus that include soup, main course and juice / drink ($ 8,000-15,000). Although if we talk about street food, we are super fans of dumplings hehe.
