Kuala Lumpur is one of our favorite cities, its streets have seen how these two backpackers got lost and found each other, ate like bears in their restaurants, drank the worst beer in the world and suffered the worst hangover in the world (normal), knew good friends , enjoyed the songs of their mosques ... Today we are going to give you 10 reasons why we love Kuala Lumpur

1. PETRONAS

Although they are no longer the tallest twin towers in the world it matters little, the symbol of Kuala Lumpur is cool, and at night more. The photo session is mandatory.

2. CAVALLINO RAMPANTE

We have already told you but it must be repeated: having lived the Malaysian Grand Prix and Alonso's victory will be unforgettable.

3. CHINATOWN

That the Chinese are weird is known, but ... can you eat a chocolate waffle in a Taoist temple ?! And although you can find restaurants that cook giant frogs, eels and you know what else, Chinatown has a unique atmosphere.

4. LITTLE INDIA

You are walking quietly down the street when suddenly the last hit dance starts to sound from a speaker and you feel like dancing in the middle of the street and inviting people to join in group choreographies as in a Bollywood video clip ... Yes! You are in Little India! And the best thing is that after the mental journey you have ridden you can eat tosai masala, tandori chicken and rotis at joke prices, and this is real.

5. MUSLIMS FOR A DAY

It is true that we do not understand anything about Muslim prayers, but they relax us and we like them very much. We were finally able to enter a mosque. No offense to anyone, but don't you think Roby looks like a gospel singer? Also notice the posture of good children we have in the photo: it seems that we have not broken a plate in our lives.

6. GREEN POWER

There are several green areas in the city but one is special: Lake gardens. After a long walk we arrived and the truth is that it was worth leaving the concrete jungle to relax between orchids and rare trees.

7. CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE

The best cake of the trip. B U E N Í S I M A (and by the way, very heavy).

8. ALCOHOL

Do you want to lose a few kilos of beer belly? Go to Kuala Lumpur, here beer is worth more than oil. You'll see, you'll lose weight by saving (or you'll save by losing weight). Anyway, there will always be a good ice cream ...

9. BLIND APPOINTMENTS

Go coincidences gives life: in the space of a few days we coincide with three traveling couples: Loida and Cristian, El Xavi and La Txell, and Silvia and Carles. How cool it was to match guys! At the same time we would meet Maria and Fra, another traveling couple, and Felipe. Let's see if we do a megaquedada in Barna or wherever! (hey, I did a Balinese cooking course and Rober does a very good padthai, there I leave it. Good trip!)

10. MEMORIES

On September 29, 2011 we launched ourselves to this city of crows, with great enthusiasm and without having any idea what would happen in the following months, this is why Kuala Lumpur will always have a special flavor for us, because it was here that we started our adventure.

Transport. How to get to Kuala Lumpur?
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Ipoh with a train that cost MYR 22 and lasted 4 hours. In Ipoh we got off from Cameron Highlands by bus for 15 MYR with the idea of staying one day, but we left as soon as we arrived, it didn't convince us to stay.

How to get to the center of Kuala Lumpur from the KLIA or KLIA2 airport?
If you arrive at any of these two airports, which are practically linked, and you want to reach the Chinatown area, you have two options:

- Bus: it is the cheapest way. The buses leave from the ground floor of the KLIA, cost about 10RM and take approx. 1 h, 15 min. They usually leave at KL Sentral, but ask if there are any that lead directly to Chinatown. There are several companies.

- Train: faster but more expensive option. Take the KLIA Ekspres (55RM and 28 min) to KL Sentral (KL Central Station) and there you change to the Kelana Jaya Line subway line direction “Gombak” and get off at a stop at “Pass Seni" From there walk to the area of the hostels.

Accommodation. Where to sleep in Kuala Lumpur?
After a night at the Wheelers (room OK but at 45 MYR), in the Chill inn (horrible and 40 MYR), we stayed the next nights at the Travelers Inn Backpackers in a double room without bathroom for 28 MYR. It's decent, but because of the location (just above the Reggae Bar, in Chinatown) and the price we chose. We took a couple more mattresses that were lying around in the corridors, since they are quite thin. The receptionist is very friendly.
